Basic Finite Element Methods is an essential course in the CAE analysis for engineers and scientists. This course will start with the importance, capability, and utilization of finite element methods. Formulations of finite element equations and solving procedures for structural and thermal problems in one-, two-, and three-dimensions will be covered. Topics include truss analysis, solving algebraic linear/nonlinear equations, interpolation functions, weighted residuals for deriving the finite element equations, 3D solid elements, beam analysis, and heat transfer.
